George A. Coury
George Coury has extensive experience in all phases of securing intellectual property rights, as well as licensing and sale of technology and counseling of clients with respect to intellectual property rights. George has substantial familiarity with a wide range of technological fields, including: petrochemistry; hydrocarbon refining; fuel cells; fluid handling; surgical and medical instruments; packaging; refrigeration; aerospace; electromagnetic controls; additive manufacturing; and software and control systems.
George joined Bachman & LaPointe in 1991 and has worked with a wide variety of large and small U.S. and international corporate clients as well as individuals in developing and utilizing intellectual property rights. He has been a partner in the firm since 1997, and is the firm’s managing partner.
George frequently makes presentations on various intellectual property topics of interest, and has run corporate workshops with engineers and patent professionals to improve corporate procedures in generating, promptly pursuing and securing effective protection for new developments.
George is admitted to practice in the State and U.S. District Courts in Connecticut and New York, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
George earned his B.S. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1985, and his J.D., with honors, from Pace University School of Law in 1990.
